The Slovak Caves Administration issues regularly coloured pamphlets and brochures, which give a brief knowledge to general public about the natural settings of show caves. In 2001 it was a leaflet „Let’s Protect Our Caves“, oriented on cave protection. Within the framework of international cooperation with the Administration of Aggtelek National Park (Hungary) a leaflet „Cave System Domica – Baradla, Underground Wetland of International Importance“ was published in 2004. A coloured book by P. Bella „Slovakia – Show Caves“ was published in 1997, with updated new edition in 2003. Afterwards, a book by F. Bernadovič „Bats – Mysterious Dwellers of Caves“ was published.
An educational film „Let’s Protect Our Underground Gems“ was made in co-production of the Slovak Caves Administration and the Bükk National Park in 2002. The fifteen minutes’ film show briefly various types of caves, fuctioning of cave ecosystem and natural and cultural values of caves. It lays a special emphasis on protection of cave biotopes. Named are activities that can threaten the underground ecosystems and mentioned the ways for their elimination.
Another co-production of the Slovak Caves Administration and Slovak Television studio Košice brought in 2003 a popular-educational film „Bats – Mysterious Dwellers of Caves“. This almost half an hour long document shows concisely the history of relation of man and bats, the activities of cavers and chiropterologists, which are in the closest contact with bats, educates the spectator with methods of study and way of bat’s life, closin with the ideas for bat protection.
A documentary and educational film „Hidden Life in the Slovak Caves“, oriented on presentation of rare invertebrates living in the Domica Cave and Ardovská Cave, was made in co-production of the Slovak Caves Administration and the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UPJŠ in Košice in 2004. It can be projected for interested people in the information centre of Domica. This is a comfortable way how to learn something of about totally 18 species of unique cave animals, that can’t be seen during cave visit because of their tiny dimensions.

after a longer period we reopen the long tour in the Demänovska Cave of Liberty from the 1st of July 2024. The tour is open once a day at 13:15 from June to August (3 months) and at 13:00 during the rest of the opening days. Number of visitors is limited, the tour is demanding, with many steps and it takes more than one and a half hours. Cave temperature is around 7°C whole year round. We are looking forward to your visit.
